Marketing emails & your choices

Last updated: 5 April 2026

What this page is for

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have a strong right to object to processing of your personal data for direct marketing (for example promotional newsletters and sales campaigns). The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) explains data subject rights including how to lodge a complaint.

Stop marketing messages

We do not charge a fee to opt out of direct marketing. To withdraw consent or object to marketing, you can:

  • Reply to any marketing email from us and ask to be removed from marketing lists; or
  • Contact us through our Contact page and state that you wish to opt out of direct marketing. Include the email address that received the message.

Where regulations allow reliance on a simple opt-out instead of prior consent for certain marketing, we still honour an opt-out when you exercise it.

Order and account emails

Emails that are strictly necessary to perform a contract or service you asked for—such as order confirmations, payment receipts, delivery updates, and security alerts—are service messages, not direct marketing. Opting out of marketing does not always mean we can stop all messages if you continue to shop with us or hold an account; we may still send communications needed to fulfil orders and meet legal obligations.

Other data rights & complaints

You may also have rights to access, correct, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may contact the ODPC in line with their published guidance: odpc.go.ke.
